How much does it cost to live and study in Australia?

The cost of studying in Australia depends on the course and its duration. A 12 week bridging course will normally cost about AUD$10,000 and is payable directly to the course provider. If I have relatives in Australia, can I stay with them to save money in my accommodations while studying in Australia?

Yes, in fact we encourage living with a relative or close friend if possible. This will not only reduce your living expenses but you will also have someone to guide you in all aspects of daily living and going around especially in a country with a different culture like Australia. Although ALLSKILLS will be here to provide you with overall assistance and advice to settling-in issues like, cultural orientation, opening a bank account, public transport, getting around, food and shopping etc.

This will be my first time to travel to Australia and I do not know anyone. What will happen when I arrive from the airport?
Do not despair, ALLSKILLS will arrange for your temporary accommodation preferably with a Filipino family nearest to your bridging course school. And upon your arrival, ALLSKILLS representatives will MEET and GREET you at the airport and bring you to your accommodation.We will also provide you with overall assistance and advice to settling-in issues like, cultural orientation, opening a bank account, public transport, getting around, food and shopping etc. Rest assured that we will do everything to make your experience as pleasant as possible.


I am a Registered Nurse in my home country, can I come to Australia to work immediately?

No. First, you have to have your nursing qualifications assessed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Then apply for registration, once you obtain your registration, you can now work anywhere in Australia as a registered nurse. ALLSKILLS will assist you in your application to NMBA up to helping you find permanent job opportunities.


I am a Registered Nurse in my home country but I do not have any experience working in a hospital environment, am I still eligible to apply for registration in Australia?
Yes, even if you do not have any acute or hospital based work experience, as long as you have worked as a nurse in any other capacity using you skills and knowledge for at least 3 months in the last 5 years. You can still be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. ALLSKILLS will assist you in completing all the requirements of your application.


I am a Registered Nurse in my home country but I have only worked as a company nurse, am I still eligible to apply for registration in Australia?
Yes, as long as you have used your nursing skills and knowledge to perform your duties and responsibilities in your role, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. ALLSKILLS will assist you in completing all the requirements.

I just recently got my Registered nurse license, and have only 3 months volunteer work experience in a hospital, will I be eligible to apply for registration in Australia?

I am an Nursing undergraduate, can I continue my studies in Australia?

Yes, you can. Provided that you are able to submit all your academic requirements, the University will be able to assess and advise you. Some of your subjects may even be credited as RPL (Recognition of prior learning). This will reduce the subjects you have to take to complete your nursing degree in Australia, hence will be cheaper.


I did not pass the Nursing Board Exam in my home country, what other options do I have in becoming an Australian Registered Nurse?

You can take the bachelor of Nursing Course in Australia, apply for RPL (recognition of prior learning) and have the nursing subjects you took assessed and credited by the University where you are applying.  This will reduce the subjects you have to take to complete your nursing degree in Australia, hence will be cheaper. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and would like to study Nursing
in Australia, will I be accepted and how long?

Yes, you can be accepted by the University. Duration of study may take up to 2 years only depending on assessment of your Psychology curriculum.

Can I get exemptions based on what I have already studied?

Yes, it may be possible to get exemptions. we will need to send your course syllabus and transcripts to the institution in Australia, for the relevant academic faculty to advise the number of exemptions that they will give you.

Do I have to prove my English language proficiency?

Yes. This is a mandatory requirement needed for obtaining a Student Visa in Australia. However, we can make an application to the University/College minus the English Proficiency Test. However, you will have to enrol to take an English language course in Australia as a preparatory course prior to taking your primary course.

What if I am not able to meet the minimum English language requirements, are there other ways I can come to Australia?

Am I allowed to work as I study in Australia?

All international students are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session and work unlimited hours during school breaks and holidays. Work part time work is NOT guaranteed and this will totally depend on your ability to seek employment. Although ALLSKILLS will assist in any way it can. While some rely on it to support themselves it is still important that you have a strong financial support as a backup from family/friends without relying on a part time job.


How do I get an Australian student visa?

ALLSKILLS have a licensed Australian migration consultant to assist you in applying for your student visa to the Australian Embassy. We will provide you with all the forms needed and other documentation requirements. Once we receive the completed visa application form and the relevant documents, you will be able to lodge your application with the Australian Embassy.
